As the sarong kebaya gives off an elegant aura, Paris fashion designer Pierre Balmain used the sarong kebaya made from traditional batik fabric when designing the uniform for the flight stewardesses of Singapore Airlines in 1968. It accentuates the cultural identity of the “Singapore Girl”.
