The highest court in Singapore and the court of final appeal for criminal and civil cases.

由来

英语“Court of Appeal”的意译。
上诉庭只负责审理高等法院的上诉。若控方或辩方不服法庭的判决，可向上诉庭提出上诉，请求推翻原有的判决。
上诉庭由首席大法官（也是上诉庭主席）及上诉庭法官组成。审讯通常由三位法官联合主持，一般包括首席大法官。

ETYMOLOGY

The Mandarin term “上诉庭” is a paraphrase of the English term “Court of Appeal”.
The Court of Appeal is an appellate court and only hears appeals from the High Court. If a plaintiff or defendant in the High Court is dissatisfied with the court’s judgment, they may appeal to the Court of Appeal to request that the original judgment be overturned.
The Court of Appeal is made up of the Chief Justice (who is also President of the Court of Appeal) and the Justices of the Court of Appeal. In hearings, the Court of Appeal usually sits with three judges, with the Chief Justice typically among them.
