由来
  • 源自福建话或潮州话的 seh zua,即直译为 “生蛇”。“生” 在此有患上疾病的意思。
  • 带状疱疹是一种影响人体神经和皮肤的疾病,红疹和水泡通常会从病患的腹部、背部或脸部开始蔓延。
  • 带状疱疹的病源与症状都和水痘相同。这些症状会令患者感到刺痛,即使是轻轻触碰也会疼痛不堪。
  • 有说法认为,由于患上此症的人身上的疱疹看起来像被一条蛇缠绕,因此俗称为 “生蛇”。
ETYMOLOGY
  • The term originated from the Hokkien or Teochew dialect term seh tsua, which was literally translated to生蛇”. The character here means to be afflicted with a disease.
  • Shingles is a disease that affects the nerves and skin. Rashes and blisters usually appear on the abdomen, back, or face, which spread to other parts of the body.
  • The causes and symptoms of shingles are similar to those of chickenpox. These symptoms can cause stabbing pain, with even the slightest touch causing extreme pain.
  • It is believed that the disease is colloquially known as 生蛇” (“” means “snake”) as a person with shingles appears to be wrapped around by a snake.
