ETYMOLOGY
  • The term “巴仙” originated from English and is often used in the everyday conversations of Southeast Asian Chinese. Before the Second World War, the term was also widely in use in Chinese newspapers, but it is less commonly used today. In addition, the phrase “one hundred percent” (一百巴仙) is a fixed phrase, which has the meaning of “definitely” or “fully”.
