Movies screened just before or after midnight, usually on weekends or on the eves of holidays. Also known in Mandarin as “半夜场”.

  • The Mandarin term “午夜场” is a paraphrase of the English term “midnight show”.
  • Midnight shows are usually screened between 11:30 p.m. and 12:15 a.m.
  • Midnight shows are screened in Singapore cinemas as early as in the 1970s.
