- Lucky numbers to bet on may come from praying to deities, through lion dance performances (where a number is usually formed with sections of mandarin oranges by the performers) or in dreams.
- In recent years, lucky number vending machines called “大伯公施财” (“Tua Pek Kong Money Giveaway”) or “财神爷施财” (“God of Fortune Money Giveaway”) have appeared in some temples in Singapore, providing lottery fanatics with another way to obtain lucky numbers.
