  • 英语“lounge”的音译兼意译。“廊”也可指厅堂四周的房屋。
  • 酒廊分为两种，第一种是大厅酒廊，通常位于酒店里。大厅酒廊的格调与大厅相似，主要是让客人休息、喝下午茶等。第二种是夜总会酒廊，主要是娱乐场所，因此供客人享用美食、品尝特别调制的鸡尾酒、玩游戏、听音乐等。新加坡的许多酒廊都设于酒店内。
  • 在新加坡，“酒廊”和“酒吧”几乎可通用。“酒吧”为英语“bar”的音译兼意译。
ETYMOLOGY
  • The character “酒” means wine or alcoholic drinks in general, while “廊” is a transliteration of the English word “lounge” and a word meaning “rooms around a hall”.
  • There are two types of lounges. The first is the hotel lobby lounge, where hotel guests may rest and have afternoon tea. The second type is the nightclub lounge, where guests drink, dine, listen to music, and play games. Many lounges in Singapore are located in hotels.
  • In Singapore, “酒廊” may also be used interchangeably with “酒吧”, meaning a bar or pub. The term “酒吧” is a combination of the transliteration and paraphrase of the English term “bar”.
