  • 英语 “lounge” 的音意兼译。“廊” 可指厅堂四周的房屋。
  • 酒廊分为两种,一种是大厅酒廊,通常位于酒店里。大厅酒廊的格调与大厅相似,主要是为了供客人休息,喝下午茶等。第二种是夜总会酒廊,主要是娱乐场所,因此供客人享用美食、品尝特别调制的鸡尾酒、玩游戏、听音乐等。新加坡的许多酒廊都设于酒店内。
  • 在新加坡,酒廊和酒吧几乎可通用。酒吧为英语 “bar ”的音意兼译。
ETYMOLOGY
  • The Mandarin term “酒廊” is a combination of the transliteration and a paraphrase of the English term “lounge”. The Chinese character “” can refer to the houses around the hall.
  • There are two types of lounges. The first type is the lobby lounge, which is usually located in hotels and shares a similar style and ambience with the hotel lobby. It is mainly for guests to rest and have afternoon tea. The second type is the nightclub lounge, which is primarily a place of entertainment for guests to enjoy delicious food, sample specially prepared cocktails, play games, and listen to music. Many lounges in Singapore are located in hotels.
  • In Singapore, the terms “酒廊” and “酒吧” are used almo interchangeably. The Mandarin term “酒吧” is a combination of the transliteration and a paraphrase  of the English term “bar”.
