An insurance scheme for Central Provident Fund (CPF) members who use their CPF savings to repay their housing loans.

由来
  • 英语“Home Protection Scheme”的意译。
  • 1982年一月，新加坡中央公积金局（Central Provident Fund Board）推出针对组屋屋主的家庭保障计划。
  • 在计划下，若屋主不幸离世、身患绝症或面临永久性残疾而无法偿还剩余的房屋贷款，余额将由中央公积金局还清。
  • 根据中央公积金局的条例，所有通过公积金储蓄偿还每月房屋贷款的屋主都必须申请家庭保障计划。
  • 申请条件包括：
    1. 申请者为合法屋主；
    2. 申请者已完成房屋贷款申请手续并获得建屋发展局（Housing & Development Board）或银行批准；
    3. 作出健康声明，显示申请者的健康状况良好；
    4. 申请者已付清首月保费。
  • 家庭保障计划的每月保费从屋主的公积金普通户头（Ordinary Account）中扣除，若是余额不足则需要以现金支付。
  • 若要终止保单，会员必须年满65岁或已付清剩余的房屋贷款。
ETYMOLOGY
  • The Mandarin term “家庭保障计划” is a paraphrase of the English term “Home Protection Scheme”.
  • In January 1982, the CPF Board launched the Home Protection Scheme (HPS) for Housing & Development Board (HDB) flat owners.
  • Under this scheme, if the homeowner passes away, is terminally ill, or becomes permanently disabled and thus cannot repay the remaining housing loan, the balance will be borne by the CPF Board.
  • According to CPF Board regulations, all homeowners who repay their housing loans monthly with their CPF savings must apply for the HPS.
  • The application conditions are as follows:
    1. The applicant is the legal owner of the flat;
    2. The applicant has completed the procedures for housing loan application and the loan has been approved by HDB or an approved mortgagee;
    3. A health declaration indicating that the applicant is in good health; and
    4. The applicant has already paid the first month’s premium in full.
  • The monthly premiums are deducted from the member’s CPF Ordinary Account. If the homeowner does not have sufficient funds in the account, he must pay the premium in cash.
  • To terminate the policy, members must be aged 65 or above, or have paid off their housing loan in full.
