由来
  • 英语 “heartware” 的意译。时任总理吴作栋在 1997 年的国庆献词中，指出一个国家不仅需要经济繁荣及具备相关基础设施的 “硬件”（hardware），国人更需要有对国家社会的归属感，培养出共同的 “心件”(heartware)。
  • “心件” 的重点在于通过志愿服务和创新想法来回馈社会，并以此建造一个更有凝聚力、更美好的新加坡。这一愿景也奠定了民间慈善组织 “心件工程”（Heartware Network）的创立宗旨。
  • “心件工程” 创立于 2000 年，主席兼创办人黄德宇组织这一青年慈善机构的目的是为了启发青少年的善心，向他们灌输良好的价值观、品格和技能，希望以此改善社会凝聚力。
  • “心件工程” 举办的慈善活动一般可分为青年发展、青年领导，以及青年创业三种类别，旨在团结新一代新加坡人向社区里的弱势群体伸出援手。这是为了培养青年无条件地帮助他人，从而建立真诚的友谊。
ETYMOLOGY
  • The Mandarin term “心件” is a paraphrase of the English term “heartware”. In 1997, then Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong highlighted in his National Day Rally speech that a country requires not only the “hardware” of economic prosperity and the required infrastructure, but also has to cultivate a shared “heartware” that imbues its people’s sense of belonging.
  • Heartware focuses on giving back to the society through volunteerism and innovative ideas to build a more cohesive and better Singapore. This vision also motivated the founding of Heartware Network, a community charity organisation.
  • Heartware Network was founded in 2000. Its chairman and founder Raymond Huang hopes that the youth charity organisation can enhance social cohesion through inspiring a spirit of kindness among youths and instilling in them good values, character and skills.
  • The charitable activities organised by Heartware Network can generally be divided into three categories: youth development, youth leadership, and youth entrepreneurship, with the purpose of bringing together young Singaporeans to help the vulnerable in the community. This aims to cultivate in them a desire to help others unconditionally, thereby forging genuine and sincere friendships.
