A mandatory savings scheme where both the employer and employee contribute a monthly amount.

  • 新加坡于1955年由当时的殖民政府推行中央公积金制度(简称公积金),由政府的法定机构中央公积金局管理国人的公积金。
  • 所有受雇职员必须定期缴交公积金,一般是薪金的10至20%左右,而雇主也必须为雇员缴交一定的公积金。
  • 国人可在住屋、保险、投资、教育、医药方面,使用他们的公积金储蓄。
  • 1970年代,公积金推出“特别户头”(Special Account),为国人累计更多储蓄作为退休金。1984年设立保健储蓄户头 (Medisave Account),帮助国人为医药开销做准备。1990年,公积金相继推出健保双全计划(Medishield)帮助国人支付慢性与严重病症的医药开销。
ETYMOLOGY
  • In 1955, the British colonial government implemented the Central Provident Fund (CPF) system in Singapore. The Central Provident Fund Board, a statutory board, manages the retirement funds of the people.
  • All employees are required to make regular contributions to their CPF, which is usually 10-20% of their salary. Employers are also required to make contributions on behalf of their employees.
  • Members can utilise their CPF savings in matters relating to housing, insurance, investment, education and medical needs.
  • In the 1970s, CPF introduced the “Special Account” to help members accumulate more savings as retirement funds. The Medisave Account was established in 1984 to prepare members for future medical expenses. In 1990, CPF introduced the Medishield scheme to help members cope with the financial costs incurred from chronic and critical illnesses.
