Tamils Representative Council and Ministry of Education (Curriculum Planning Division) will be jointly organizing the National Tamil Debate series for Primary Schools in 2015. This event is supported by the Tamil Language Learning & Promotion Committee (TLLPC) and the Tamil Language Council (TLC) and endorsed by Ministry of Education (CPDD). This is the 4th edition of the series started in 2009 and is organised once in 2 years. A total of 32 schools participated this year. The format entails a prepared round where the motion is given 2 weeks in advance. There is also an impromptu round where students are given a motion to prepare in 5 minutes.  All motions are based on current issues. The Finals are scheduled to be held on 4 April 2015 at Mediacorp TV Theatre and will be recorded by Mediacorp TV Vasantham for a delayed telecast.
