This competition will introduce innovation in story telling by showing how to create digital stories in Tamil as a TLF2022 event. The event will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on Saturday, 2nd April 2022 via zoom.

1. A qualified trainer will conduct a workshop on digital story creation skills to about five students about one to two months before the day of the event. These students will be tasked to prepare three digital Tamil stories to be shared with the participants on the day of the event.

2. On the day of the event, a qualified trainer will do a presentation via zoom on how to create digital stories. The trainer will explain the methodology of doing it plus introduce the software needed. We will focus on the use of software that are available at no cost. The objective is to get the participants to appreciate the convenience and user friendliness of the software in creating digital stories. This segment will run for 35 to 40 minutes.

3. We will have three students, who attended the digital story creation workshop to share their Tamil digital stories via zoom. This segment will run for 15 minutes.

4. At the conclusion of the above, we will announce the details of the digital Tamil story telling competition for participants between the ages of 11 and 15.

5. Contestants must borrow a Tamil book from NLB and create a 2 - 3 minutes digital story based on the book they had borrowed.

6. The closing date for the competition will be 16th April 2022.

7. A panel of judges will review the submissions and decide on the winners. Prizes will be awarded – 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and five consolation prizes.

8. The prizes will be given out by 30th April 2022.

9. The entire programme, which consists of the zoom event, creation of digital stories (competition), and the presenting of the prizes will be completed during the TLF period of 1st April to 1st May.
