Yutham

2022-TLF---NUS-TLS---Yutham

02 April 2022
9am - 1pm, 3pm - 6pm

Yutham consists of a series of four innovative games whereby participants gradually accumulate points in each round. These games follow the basics of simple Tamil shows telecasted on television and traditional games. However, our team has brainstormed and innovated these games into more enriching and holistic ones. Participants will be representing their respective schools (Secondary / Pre-U).

The overarching aim of Yutham is to widen participants’ exposure to the literary intricacies in the everyday use of the Tamil language as well as the Tamil film industry, within a fun and engaging space. Yutham 2022 also strives to encourage increased use and appreciation of Tamil Language and Literature. At the same time, we aim to promote healthy competition among our participants, so as to help innovate the competition experience and satisfaction.

As part of encouraging good teamplay, more than half of the proposed games also heavily rely on mutual trust and combined strengths where they have to communicate efficiently to find the answers. Through this we aim to provoke creative thinking and quick wit, to develop a greater appreciation for the poetic nature of Tamil songs, to encourage good articulation of the Tamil language, to promote their language proficiency and feel more open conversing in Tamil and to inculcate a love for language by exposing students to the fun elements of the Tamil language.
