Kalam aims to encourage the use of Tamil in a fun and creative manner. There will be two innovative competitions to interest students in Tamil to promote the use of the language in non-academic ways.

• A photography competition, where participants will create a photoset of 10 to 15 images, to convey a compelling narrative for the given topic. Participants will need to showcase their creativity and language competency through the captions and presentation. 

• A meme-making competition, requiring participants to create video-format memes with captions relating to student life.
