This is the 5th anniversary of “Umar Pulavar Arangam” which SKML initiated as part of the annual Tamil Language Festival. This enables us to reinforce the significant contribution to the Tamil-speaking Indian Muslim community. 

As in previous years, SKML will explore various methods in promoting Tamil speaking among the younger generation and reinforce crucial role of parents to ensure Tamil remains as a living language in Singapore. Organisers will engage renowned speakers to share about the programme and Tamil language Campaign’s message in promoting the language. 

The 3-hour programme will also identify 3 or 4 individuals who have contributed towards promoting Tamil language. This allows us to continue recognizing unsung heroes in the past and give recognition to these individuals. We hope this will inspire participants to contribute to the language.
