This multi-media TED-Talk like presentation will be both interactive and stimulating in a sense that the presentation will discuss how Tamil has evolved over time and have also morphed to adapt (or even adopt) through various circumstances, environment and surroundings. For Tamil to rise from Dravidian era and transcend geographical, cultural and religious barrier to exist as one of world’s oldest and living classical language is no mean feat. This talk will present how Tamil has both morphed and evolved to the desires of the users’ with both flexibility and accommodating to co-exist with other languages.
The talk will be bi-lingual as it aspires to invite both Tamil and non-Tamil speaking crowd. Presented by youths, organisers are hoping to employ some customized multi-media presentation. The objective of this project is to avoid promoting Tamil to the already Tamil speaking community but to reach out to the youths and to the non-Tamil speaking group so that they may appreciate the language better.
