The drama starts with the tale of King Raja Suran who came to Temasek on his journey to invade China. Following his dreams, he ventured down to the bottom of the ocean in a glass bubble. There he married the sea princess Mathapu and had 3 children in the city of Rika.

After a period, as promised the three princes came up to land. They all had adventures but one of them, Nila Palawan's life history was filled with twists and turns. He married and had 5 children. His favourite was his last child, Sang Nila Utama.

Sang Nila Utama married Sundari and stayed in Bintan. During one of his hunting expeditions, he saw the beaches of Temasek. On his journey to the island, his ship is hurled into a storm. How did he escape it?
