Ninaivugalodu Kuthugalam "Fun with Memories"

Ninaivugalodu-KuthugalamFun-with-Memories

17 April 2015
3.00pm to 6.00pm

In line with SG50, we have chosen the Old Hill Street Police Station Artrium for the event as it is a conserved building in a heritage area. Students will be exposed to the Tamil language against the backdrop of Singapore history. The focus will be on significant historical events, through the use of hands on activities. Students divided into groups will be tasked to produce a 3 minute TV news feature of a historical event. They are to include the interview of a historical character in the feature. Each group will be provided an iPAD uploaded with NLB e-resources links to the event including those from NewspaperSG, HistorySG and Infopedia together with the format of the feature, roles of the students and guiding questions that can be used in the interview. Volunteers dressed as historical characters will be role playing for the interview sessions. They will give their perspective of the events. Research has been done on the costumes with the aid of PictureSG so that it is authentic and credible. The whole event concept will be arranged in a fun and entertaining manner so as to capture the attention and interests of the students. The videos taken by the students will then be screened and all of them will be able to take home book vouchers as prizes.
