• SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) was established in 2016 to encourage citizens to master skills, to enhance the quality of education and training programmes, and to foster a culture of lifelong learning.
• To keep up with the times as well as face future challenges, the Government encourages Singaporeans to upgrade their skills through SkillsFuture and maintain their competitive edge.
• Under this national movement, Singaporeans aged 25 and above receive S$500 in SkillsFuture Credit, which can be used to pay for courses in various fields. Following the initial credit, the Government provides regular top-ups.
• To alleviate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Government launched the SGUnited Skills and SGUnited Mid-Career Pathways programmes in late 2020, benefiting some 9,800 individuals.

In her opening speech at the Adult Learning Symposium 2020 via livestream yesterday, Minister of State for Education and Manpower Gan Siow Huang announced the launch of the Training and Adult Education Industry Digital Plan by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG), the Infocomm Media Development Authority, and the Institute for Adult Learning.
