英语 “Jewel Changi Airport”（简称“ Jewel”）的意译。
占地近 14 万平方米的星耀樟宜，于 2019 年 10 月 18 日由总理李显龙正式开幕。
星耀樟宜由樟宜机场集团（Changi Airport Group）和凯德商用产业（CapitaMalls Asia）联合发展，耗资约 14.7 亿。
星耀樟宜的建设计划于 2013 年由两家公司提出。该计划称为 “宝石计划”，即英语 “Project Jewel” 的意译。“Jewel” 的华文名称于 2017 年正式定下，含有 “星耀樟宜，点亮新城” 的寓意。在 2013 至2017 年间，星耀樟宜也被称为 “樟宜宝石”。
建立星耀樟宜是为了更方便衔接机场的三个航站楼，巩固樟宜机场作为区域航空中枢的地位，以及打造一个国人和旅客的共同休闲去处。除了 280 多家餐馆和品牌商店，星耀樟宜也含有森林谷（Forest Valley）、雨漩涡（Rain Vortex）及星空花园（Canopy Park）等景观。

ETYMOLOGY

The Mandarin term “星耀樟宜” is a paraphrase of the English term “Jewel Changi Airport” (abbreviated as “Jewel”).
Jewel Changi Airport, with an area of nearly 140,000 square metres, was officially opened by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on 18 October 2019.
It is jointly developed by the Changi Airport Group and CapitaMalls Asia, costing approximately $1.47 billion.
In 2013, the two companies proposed the construction project to build Jewel Changi Airport. It was then known as “宝石计划” in Mandarin, which is a paraphrase of the English term “Project Jewel”. The Mandarin translation of “Jewel” to “星耀” was officially decided in 2017 and has the symbolic meaning of “lighting up the city of Singapore” . From 2013 to 2017, Jewel Changi Airport was also known in Mandarin as “樟宜宝石”.
The construction of Jewel aimed to strengthen the connection between the three airport terminals, consolidate Changi Airport’s position as a regional aviation hub, and create a shared leisure destination for Singaporeans and travellers alike.
In addition to more than 280 restaurants and branded stores, Jewel also has landscape attractions such as Forest Valley, Rain Vortex, and Canopy Park.
