  • 草粿草(Platostoma palustre)又名“仙人草”,这也是“仙草”一词的由来。
  • 仙草是来自中国东南沿海地区的著名小吃,常常作为配料加入各种甜品中,或制作成饮料,后者也称“仙草水”。
  • 有说法认为仙草有清热消暑的效果,因此在亚洲多个地区都广受欢迎,主要用来制作清爽可口的甜品。
  • 新加坡的特色饮料“黑白”(也称“Michael Jackson”)就 是 在 豆奶中加入仙草丝而得名。
ETYMOLOGY
  • Chinese mesona (Platostoma palustre) is a plant known in Mandarin as “仙人草”, which is the origin of the term “仙草”.
  • Grass jelly is a well-known food item hailing from China’s southeastern coast. It may be added to desserts as a topping, or made into a beverage known as “仙草水”. 
  • Grass jelly is believed to have cooling properties, making it popular in many parts of Asia, where it is used to make refreshing desserts.
  • A uniquely Singaporean drink, “黑白” (literally, “black white”; also colloquially known as “Michael Jackson”), is made by adding shredded grass jelly to soya bean milk.
