Noun

For every dollar that the public deposits into or donates to a designated account or fund, the Government will also allocate one dollar towards the same cause.

  • If the Government wants to show support for a social initiative, it will generally provide dollar-for-dollar matching.
  • The dollar-for-dollar policy increases the financial support received by beneficiary organisations, while also encouraging the public to donate more towards charitable initiatives.
