A multi-purpose recreational park located in central Singapore, between MacRitchie Reservoir and Lornie Road. 

由来
  • 始建于1867年的麦里芝蓄水池是新加坡的第一个蓄水池,原名为“蓄水池”(Impounding Reservoir)。
  • 蓄水池在1891年扩建,工程由工程师詹姆斯•麦里芝(James MacRitchie)负责。为了纪念前道路和公共工程总监约翰•特恩布尔•汤姆森(John Turnbull Thomson),蓄水池在1907年被命名为“汤申路蓄水池”(Thomson Road Reservoir)。后来,蓄水池于1922年再度改名为“麦里芝蓄水池”,以纪念麦里芝。
  • 麦里芝蓄水池公园于1967年8月4日正式开幕。公园内设有跑步步道、运动区、儿童游乐园及一座供乐队进行演奏的演奏台。
  • 2004年11月5日,麦里芝蓄水池公园新添加高达25米的树梢吊桥(TreeTop Walk)景点。
  • 麦里芝蓄水池公园除了有自然观光步道和树梢吊桥等景点,也有让水上运动爱好者划皮艇和独木舟的空间。
ETYMOLOGY
  • MacRitchie Reservoir, built in 1867, was Singapore’s first reservoir. It was originally known as the Impounding Reservoir.
  • The reservoir was expanded in 1891 under the direction of Municipal Engineer James MacRitchie. In 1907, it was renamed Thomson Road Reservoir to commemorate John Turnbull Thomson, the former Superintendent of Roads and Public Works. In 1922, the reservoir was renamed in honour of MacRitchie.
  • MacRitchie Reservoir Park officially opened on 4 August 1967. The park features jogging trails, fitness areas, children’s playgrounds, and a bandstand.
  • On 5 November 2004, the 25-metre-high TreeTop Walk in MacRitchie Reservoir Park opened.
  • MacRitchie Reservoir Park is also a popular venue for water sports enthusiasts to engage in kayaking and canoeing.
