Noun

An area in southwest Singapore, in the vicinity of Pasir Panjang, Queenstown and Clementi. The main campus of the National University of Singapore is located at Kent Ridge, hence the university is often associated with the name “Kent Ridge”.

由来

肯特岗（Kent Ridge）原名为“巴西班让山脊”（Pasir Panjang Ridge）。
1952年10月3日，为了纪念肯特公爵夫人（Duchess of Kent）与她的儿子肯特公爵（Duke of Kent）在1952年的到访，巴西班让公园重新命名为“肯特岗公园”，而巴西班让山脊也易名为“肯特岗”。

ETYMOLOGY

Kent Ridge was originally named Pasir Panjang Ridge.
On 3 October 1952, to commemorate the visit by the Duchess of Kent and her son, the Duke of Kent, Pasir Panjang Park was renamed Kent Ridge Park, and Pasir Panjang Ridge was also renamed Kent Ridge.
