释义

名词

外国人入境新加坡时需填报的纸质白色卡片表格。

DEFINITION

Noun

A form on a white card for foreigners to complete when entering Singapore.

由来
  • 新加坡纸质入境卡(disembarkation/embarkation [DE] card)的俗称。
ETYMOLOGY
  • The Mandarin term “白卡” (literally, “white card”) is the colloquial name for the physical disembarkation/embarkation (DE) card used in Singapore. Its digital equivalent is known as the SG Arrival Card.
  • Before 2018, all travellers entering Singapore were required to fill in a DE card with their personal particulars and travel information.
  • When a traveller entered the country, the left and middle portions of the DE card were retained and filed by the immigration officers; the right portion would be handed over to immigration when the traveller left the country.
  • On 4 October 2018, the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) launched a trial of electronic entry cards, in order to eventually replace paper DE cards.
  • On 27 March 2020, the electronic entry card was formally put into use. Travellers visiting Singapore are now required to fill in their personal particulars, travel details and health status online three days before arrival.
  • ICA is expected to save about 48 million DE cards every year with the transition to electronic entry cards.
