A centre for research on the overseas Chinese and the display of related artefacts and information. It is located in the Nanyang Technological University campus in Singapore.

  • 华裔馆的所在地为前南洋大学的行政楼，由新加坡建筑师黄庆祥设计，是一座国家古迹。
  • 1995年5月17日，华裔馆举行开幕典礼。华裔馆的董事均为世界各地商界、学术界及公共服务领域杰出的华人代表。
  • 华裔馆也是全世界首个专门研究海外华人的大学研究中心，其运作主要靠私人捐赠者和政府辅助金的资助。
  • 作为研究中心，华裔馆的其他设施还包括王赓武图书馆与海外华人博物馆。
ETYMOLOGY
  • The Chinese Heritage Centre (CHC) is housed in the former Nanyang University’s Administration Building, a gazetted national monument designed by Singaporean architect Ng Keng Siang.
  • The centre was officially opened on 17 May 1995. Its international Board of Governors comprises prominent Chinese representatives from the business, academic and public service sectors.
  • It is the first university research centre that focuses on the study of overseas Chinese. Its operations are mainly funded by private donations and government grants.
  • As a research centre, the CHC’s facilities include the Wang Gungwu Library and a museum showcasing overseas Chinese history and culture.
