  • 创业基金的目的是为了培育具有潜能，但又缺乏资金的企业家（多数为中小型企业），协助他们发展区域化的业务，以及为他们现有的业务增值。
  • 90 年代初，新加坡政府为了配合经济区域化政策，培养具有潜能与冒险精神的新加坡企业家，拨款 1.5 亿元设立第一个创业基金。
  • 1992 年，创业及私人资本投资协会（Singapore Venture Capital and Private Equity Association）成立，旨在推广创业基金，让人们更好地理解创业基金及其对于经济发展的重要性。
  • 1998 年，新加坡已有 80 间企业获得创业基金。另外，创业基金也给公司提供贷款，可达该公司资金的四倍。
ETYMOLOGY
  • The Mandarin term “创业基金” is a paraphrase of the English term “venture fund”.
  • The purpose of a venture fund is to nurture entrepreneurs with potential but who lack funding (mostly small and medium-sized enterprises), assisting their development of regional businesses and adding value to their existing operations.
  • In the early 1990s, the Singapore government allocated S$150 million to set up the first venture fund in line with the economic regionalisation policy to nurture Singapore entrepreneurs with potential and a risk-taking spirit.
  • In 1992, the Singapore Venture Capital & Private Equity Association was established to promote awareness of the venture fund and its importance to economic development.
  • By 1998, 80 companies in Singapore had benefited from the venture fund. Additionally, the venture fund provided loans to companies, which can be up to four times of the company’s funds.
