  • Singlish is also known in Mandarin as “新格利”, which is the transliteration of the English term “Singlish”.

  • Singlish is a mixture of elements from Mandarin, Malay, Tamil, and Chinese dialects. This combination has given rise to a language with its own unique pronunciations, sentence structures, syntax, and vocabulary.
