  • 警曹（Sergeant）的警衔低于警曹长（Staff Sergeant），高于二划警员（Corporal）。袖章上有三道V字形标志。
  • 初为警曹，需要先经过六个月的住宿培训（residential training programme），课程包括警务战术（police defence tactics）、体能训练（physical training）、刑法课程（lessons in criminal law）以及巡警（Ground Response Force officer）的培训等。ƒ
  • 完成培训后，警曹可能会被派往邻里警察中心（Neighbourhood Police Centre），以累积相关的警务经验和培养领导技能。之后，他们会被派到各个不同的部门，负责不同类型的工作，如一线工作、调查与情报工作等。

ETYMOLOGY
  • The rank of Sergeant is lower than Staff Sergeant but higher than Corporal. The rank insignia of a Sergeant consists of three chevrons.
  • To become a police sergeant, officers need to undergo a six-month-long residential training programme, which includes courses in police defence tactics, physical training, lessons in criminal law, as well as training as a Ground Response Force officer.
  • Upon completion of their training, police sergeants may be dispatched to Neighbourhood Police Centres to gain relevant experience in policing matters and to build up their leadership skills. After that, they are dispatched to various police departments, where they take on different jobs such as frontline work, investigations or intelligence work.
