An area in southwest Singapore, in the vicinity of Pasir Panjang, Queenstown and Clementi. The main campus of the National University of Singapore is located at Kent Ridge, hence the university is often associated with the name “Kent Ridge”.
在1942年新加坡战役(Battle of Singapore)的结束期间,整个巴西班让山脊成为英国在新加坡西部的最后防线。山脊也保护着亚历山大(Alexandra)地区,也就是英军医院(现今的亚历山大医院 [Alexandra Hospital])和英国弹药库的所在地。
During the Battle of Singapore in 1942, Kent Ridge served as the last line of defence for the British in western Singapore. The ridge also protected the Alexandra area, where the British military hospital (today’s Alexandra Hospital) and ammunition depot were located.
