  • ƒ新加坡第一家霸级市场是来自法国的家乐福（Carrefour）， 1997年10月23日在新达城（Suntec City）开幕，占地面积达93,108平方英尺，售卖的产品超过25,000种。
  • 2000年，牛奶公司（Dairy Farm）旗下的巨人超市（Giant）在裕廊的IMM开设霸级市场，职总平价超级市场到了2006年也在宏茂桥开设霸级市场（FairPrice Xtra）。
ETYMOLOGY
  • Singapore’s first hypermarket was Carrefour from France. It officially opened on 23 October 1997 in Suntec City, occupied an area of 93,108 square feet and stocked over 25,000 different products.
  • In 2000, Dairy Farm’s subsidiary, Giant Supermarket, opened its hypermarket at Jurong IMM Mall. The National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) FairPrice Group opened its hypermarket, FairPrice Xtra, in Ang Mo Kio in 2006.
