Noun

Housing and Development Board (HDB) flats in Singapore with an area larger than a 5-Room flat, the latter of which has four bedrooms and one living room. Also known in Mandarin as “六房式组屋” or “公寓式”.

由来
  • 自 1960 年成立以来,新加坡建屋发展局(简称建屋局,Housing and Development Board)便负责为普通民众建设廉价且高质量的公共住房。
  • 政府组屋的型式,是依照睡房与客厅的房间数量总和进行划分。
  • 建屋局自 1995 年停止兴建和售卖六房式组屋,因此人们目前只可在公开市场上购买。
  • 根据 2020 年的人口普查(Census of Population)报告显示,共有百分之 22.9 的国人居住在五房式及公寓式组屋。
  • 六房式组屋的面积一般约 140 平方米左右。虽然在房间数量及设备方面,六房式与五房式的组屋大致相同,但前者的总面积较大,而且一部分的六房式组屋甚至建有阳台。
ETYMOLOGY
  • Since its establishment in 1960, HDB has been responsible for building affordable and high-quality public housing for the common people.
  • Types of government flats are distinguished according to the total number of rooms, which includes living rooms and bedrooms.
  • As HDB stopped the construction and sale of 6-Room flats/Executive flats in 1995, such units can only be bought from the open market currently.
  • According to the Census of Population in 2020, 22.9% of Singaporeans lived in 5-Room flats and Executive flats.
  • The area of a 6-Room flat is typically about 140 square metres. Although 6-Room and 5-Room flats have a similar number of rooms and facilities, the former has a larger total area. Some 6-Room flats also have balconies.
